Abby and Hartmut are two of my oldest and dearest friends. Hartmut and I met in the early 80's jamming at Frank Lloyd Wright's Spring Green Restaurant with other musicians and actors from American Players Theatre. Abby was one of the first Madison area musicians to embrace the Jewish music revival, forming Shira and recording two successful albums of creative, fun-loving arrangements of classic tunes. The three of us had the best discussions of any band I've ever travelled with.
